King Moon    6.5.2012

As The King Moon sets
the Queen sun rises kissing
the Tararua peaks with her gentle lips

The master moon fades
suspending his glory
in the pale baby blue morning sky
now spun with the yellow
of the Queens sight

Early morning cloud gathers on the horizon and
scarfs the Island high and long
Through the grey soft shroud a white dome rises to
pyramid the form into ice cream

The King moon observes

The grey scarf cuts, black striping, slicing the whole of it.
Kapiti’s island babies'  float -
curled up overcooked steaks
the light of the horizon lifting their edges
in angelic offerings

The chill morning requires a fire
and a second cup

A boat catches Our Majesty’s rays and is shot white

King Moon fades

Birds flick
Fire starts to heat
Dog sighs

Our Lady lights the world
while the Old Boy takes five
on the other side
